Founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in, Earth Day was first held on April 22, 1970. Today, Earth Day is coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year. Numerous communities celebrate Earth Week, an entire week of activities focused on environmental issues.
As an Eco-friendly company, Lucky Vitamin is proud to support Earth Day.
Green is the official color of our company, not just in our logo, but also in the way we run our business.
This morning, several Lucky Vitamin employees volunteered to spend time cleaning areas and collecting garbage from the surroundings of the company site.
In addition, we are proud to recycle and reuse as much material as we possibly can. Boxes, bubble wrap and packing material used in shipments from suppliers to our warehouse are reused in orders shipped from our warehouse to our customers. Lucky Vitamin also uses oxo-degradable bubble for packing material. This revolutionary system is a much greener version for packing. Similar to biodegradable, oxo-degradable bubble accelerates the degradation process and will breakdown under many different waste conditions.
Lastly, many Lucky Vitamin employees fully support the green movement, using coffee mugs instead of disposable cups and water bottles instead of bottles of water. Office supplies also have a green tone at Lucky Vitamin as office workers recycle paper to print out documents. Each sheet of paper has two sizes and we try our best to use both of them.
Post-it or sticky notes? No chance. We cut used invoices or any paper in the office to use the other side for notes. A small and personal green touch which (if done by many people) can have a giant impact on keeping our planet Earth green for future generations.
Note: in celebration of Earth Day, Lucky Blog will be daily presenting a new Eco-Friendly brand added to Lucky Vitamin.com, starting today until the end of the month of April.
