Herb of the Week: Eleuthero

Filed Under: Herbs at 3:52 pm | By: Mauricio Matusiak, Senior Editor
Eleuthero

Energy boosters are one of the hottest supplements. Many people are lacking energy these days.

Plenty of energy drinks are available but are not enough to keep some people awake and energetic.

Eleuthero is an alternative for people struggling to keep up the pace. Also known as Siberian ginseng, this plant has been used medicinally for hundreds of years.

Originally from the Taiga region (northeast China, eastern Russia, Korea and Japan) eleuthero has been used by athletes, explorers, miners, divers to increase energy and stamina.

Studies have showed that eleuthero enhances the immune system, preventing respiratory tract infections, colds and flu. The addition to eleuthero to vitamin C plus Echinacea may provide one of the best formulas to support immunity.

It also increases mental alertness, work outputs and quality of work under stressful conditions and athletic performance.

Eleuthero is one of the most popular herbs in Chinese medicine to normalize body functions and invigorate vital energy. It’s generally used as a preventive medicine and general tonic.

In conclusion, if energy drinks are not doing the work for you, a natural energy booster with eleuthero may give you the spark you need.
