A record-breaking snowstorm just blanketed the Northeastern this weekend. It was technically a fall storm since winter begins today.
The worst blizzard in years reminded everyone that the winter has arrived, bringing cold temperatures, snow and icing conditions.
It is also time for a winter check. What do we really need for this winter?
Shovel, ice scraper, winter boots, gloves are the main “tools” needed but an Ice Melting product can be very useful as well. Just sprinkle sidewalks and driveways with Ice Melting, then shovel off resulting slush, making it a lot easier to remove thick accumulations of ice and snow.
Winter is also tough on our immune system. It’s never too later to enhance your immune system to prevent the flu and the common cold.
Vitamin C is always needed during the cold months. Try to add orange juice to your diet. It’s also the best season for fresh citrus: oranges, tangerines, grapefruit, clemetines and tangelos taste best at this time of the year.
If you are not a fan of citrus, Echinacea has been used to fortify the immune system for many years. Echinacea tea may be added to your daily diet but the extract generally produces better and quicker results.
Finally, take care of your skin this winter. Dry skin is very common due to quick temperature changes. The cold air outside in contrast with the warm indoor temperatures can damage your skin. Take care of your skin with moisturizers and personal care products. Don’t forget your lips. Lip balm is always one of the top-selling products during the winter.
Be prepared so you can enjoy this winter.
