Resveratrol is a natural occurring antioxidant found primarily in red wine. It’s present in a wide variety of plants, including grapes and peanuts. Have you ever heard about “one glass of wine a day is healthy”? It’s true.
Wine is the primary dietary source of resveratrol. Red wine contains much greater amounts of resveratrol than does white wine, since resveratrol is concentrated in the grape skin and the manufacturing process of red wine includes prolonged contact with grape skins.

An average glass of red wine provides approximately 640 mcg of resveratrol, normally a sufficient intake needed daily. The problem is the presence of alcohol which may not be suitable for many people.
Peanuts can also be considered a high source of resveratrol, providing about 73 mcg per handful. The number, however, is significantly lower than red wine.
Resveratrol is available as a dietary supplement providing high doses of the product in a single capsule without the alcohol, and supporting more health conditions such as cholesterol and blood pressure.
