It’s that time of the month again. Aunt Flo rears her ugly head in the form of bloating, mood swings, cramping and a boatload of other annoying symptoms. This period of emotional imbalance is known as premenstrual syndrome. PMS symptoms are a lot more common than you think. In fact, around 80% of women will experience at least one PMS symptom in each cycle. Luckily, there’s something out there that can bring relief when PMS symptoms start.

Super Nutrition offers three formulations that can reduce PMS symptoms including Simply One Women, Women’s Blend and Anti-aging Potency. All of these formulations contain vital nutrients that have been scientifically proven to reduce PMS discomfort.

Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), naturally present in many foods, can reduce PMS symptoms, including moodiness, irritability. In a recent study of 630 women, 100 mg to 150 mg of supplemental vitamin B6 reduced PMS in about 66% of the women, and 160 mg to 200 mg of Vitamin B6 reduced PMS in about 79% of the women.

Vitamin D

There is some evidence that getting more vitamin D from the diet might help to prevent PMS or reduce symptoms. Another study revealed women who received took 706 IU/day of vitamin D per had 41% less PMS symptoms than those who received 112IU/day.

Vitex (Chaste Tree Berry)

Vitex is sometimes called “the women’s herb.” It is used for menstrual cycle irregularities, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), a more severe form of PMS called premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), and symptoms of menopause. Please take into consideration it should not be taken with the pill as it may increase the side effects and decrease its effectiveness.

Magnesium

The mineral magnesium, found naturally in food and available in supplements, has showing good preliminary results for PMS. When taking magnesium at 200 and 360 mg per day reduced symptoms including weight gain, fluid retention, swelling of extremities, breast tenderness and abdominal bloating.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is very helpful to women. It provides relief from hot flashes, cramps, and menstrual pain. It has a primary function as an antioxidant, protecting cell membranes, active enzyme sites and DNA.
