A recent Japanese study carried out over 11 years and involving more than 40,000 men and women aged 40 to 79 found that people drinking four cups of green tea a day suffered with less heart disease than people who didn’t drink tea. In fact, heart disease was reduced by 31 per cent in women and 22 per cent in men. Additionally, levels of psychological stress were 20 per cent lower in people who drank at least five cups of green tea daily.
Green tea has been known to be a healthier alternative to other beverages with numerous health-boosting properties. Drinking green tea helps reduce your bad (LDL) cholesterol levels and helps prevent the build-up of fatty plaque on your artery walls that can cause heart attacks. Studies have shown that drinking green tea can be helpful to treat headaches and joint pain.
