Picture this: you’re walking through a field of lavender. The fresh, floral scent washes over you and brings you a sense of calm. Only, you’re not in a field, you’re at home, work or school. But thanks to LuckyAromas lavender essential oil, all of the soothing benefits of lavender are captured in a bottle. (Remember, as with any essential oil, proper use and dilution is key.)

5 Lavender Oil Uses

1. Better Rest

Among its many therapeutic uses, lavender oil has been found to help with sleep disorders, including insomnia. Thanks to its famously soothing scent, lavender can be used for a better night’s rest when put into a diffuser. You should always check with your aromatherapist first to see which combinations of oils will work best for you (everyone has different reactions), but one of the more popular combinations for sleep features LuckyAromas lavender, chamomile and LuckyAromas orange essential oils.

2. Pain Management

Whether you’re bogged down by tension headaches, sore muscles from a serious gym session, or body aches from dreaded PMS, pain management can sometimes be, well, a pain. Taking too many over-the-counter meds can lead to issues of their own, which is why natural pain management can really save the day. Lavender is an anti-inflammatory, so for aches and pains, you can create a soothing massage oil by mixing LuckyAromas lavender with a carrier oil, such as argan oil. (For headaches, you can use the diffuser method and/or an aroma stick.)

3. Easing Anxiety

Anxiety affects millions of Americans, and if you’re one of them, you know how much good can come from finding something that helps ease your symptoms. Whether you use Lucky Aromas lavender oil via a diffuser or an aroma stick, or put a couple drops in a washcloth you keep in the shower, it can have an overall relaxing effect. Best for nighttime use, lavender can alleviate those end-of-the-day woes.

4. Hair Growth

Hair loss can be a stressful experience for anyone. Thankfully, lavender provides a natural way to promote new hair growth, as this multitasking essential oil helps stimulate scalp circulation while moisturizing hair. Simply blend LuckyAromas lavender oil with a carrier oil (like argan oil), massage into your scalp before bed, and wash in the morning.

5. Smelling Fresh

The scent of lavender is nothing short of divine, so it’s no surprise that it’s used in so many beauty products. The only downside is a lot of those lotions, shampoos, and perfumes can have harmful chemicals. You can make your own DIY natural bar of soap using LuckyAromas lavender oil and honey (which has its own soothing properties). This way, you know you’re staying fresh and clean the natural way, all while enjoying the many benefits of lavender.

Can we please stop this obsession with lavender and other “essential” oils? These are substances that are used, by the plants from which they are processed, either as an attractant or a repellent. They are powerful chemicals; the beloved lavender actually act as a narcotic and is quite addictive, and can also be considered a pesticide (it can be used to kill moths). In their concentrated form, these oils are quite dangerous. Then there is the fragrance from the oils, which permeates everything and contaminates food, clothing, personal care products, etc. It’s becoming impossible to obtain things that haven’t been tainted with some scent or other. And these scents are respiratory irritants that can cause or aggravate asthma, sinusitis, headaches, etc; some of them are actually carcinogenic.
Despite all the hype, they are completely “non-essential”, and are merely providing the purveyors another way to bilk consumers of their hard-earned money in order to reap ever greater profits. It’s time to stop poisoning our bodies and our air with these pervasive chemicals and free ourselves from the bonds of fragrance.
