Looking for Detox? Try Aloe Vera!

Aloe VeraAloe Vera supplements have been on of the hottest sellers in health food stores in the past couple years. The recent surge indicates that more people are discovering this incredible product which has been used for many medicinal purposes.

Also known as the Medicinal Aloe, Aloe Vera is originally from northern Africa. This beautiful plant has long green leaves, which have spikes along the edges. The fresh leaf gel is used medicinally, and in cosmetic products as well.

Aloe Vera is used to support common health issues, such as detoxification, constipation, IBS– Irritable bowel syndrome – and heartburn. In addition, aloe has been historically used topically to heal minor cuts, burns, insect bites, itching and sunburn.

Several Aloe Vera juices are available and most products are found in two different forms: juice or gel. Customers always wonder: what is the difference between the juice and the gel? Which one is better?

The gel comes from the juice but uses a natural thickening agent called carrageenan, which comes from the Irish moss.  The benefits are technically the same, choosing between juice or gel is more a form preference than a reason for better results.

Talking about taste, the juice has a vegetable taste and can be mixed with any type of beverage. An average intake of aloe Vera should be anywhere between two to four ounces per day.

So, if you are looking for a natural detox product that can also help you with better bowel movement, Aloe Vera may be what you’ve been looking for.

I agree that aloe vera is one of natures great healing plants and is great for handling constipation. My only comment on carrageenan, is that in processing, carrageenan can have MSG in it. For that reason, I prefer just the aloe vera juice.

Another great skin detoxer is nettles. It is great for women because it has high levels of iron and other minerals. I have found it to be great for hair, skin, and general toxicity concerns. Also great for allergies.
