A recent study shows that almost a third of all Americans are unable to get a good night of sleep.
The report by the National Sleep Foundation states that most people cannot sleep well because they are worrying about the economy, their jobs or their money.
The most interesting findings in the poll shows 46 percent of Americans said their sleep needs aren’t being met and 35 percent said they sleep less than six hours a night.
People should sleep at least seven hours per night, but the recommended average of eight hours is essential for many people to stay healthy.
The poll also displays that up to 89 percent reported insomnia and one third said lack of sleep affected their work.
In times when the economy struggles, you really don’t want to lose your job. Lack of sleep may lead to low productivity. Keep in mind a few tips to help you sleep better at night and keep you awake at work.
Have regular sleep times. Try to go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time every morning. Exercise regularly, but try to stop at least three hours before bedtime. Same rule for your last meal and try not to drink caffeinated beverages or alcohol at night.
