Nothing says put together like a woman with a chip-free manicure or pedicure. This female ritual, as silly as it may seem, can be an instant mood booster or the perfect finishing touch for any occasion. Take things to another level by swapping out your old chemical-filled beauty products with new natural or non-toxic alternatives. Finding a new, natural nail polish can be a little bit of trial and error. For starters, you’ll need to purchase the base and top coat that go along with the brand to achieve the best results – especially with water-based formulas. Here are some of our favorites:

Zoya –If you are a recovering OPI junkie, Zoya’s your best bet for not turning back. This brand is long-wearing and contains no formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, dibutyl phthalate or camphor. Zoya provides a great selection of subtle shimmers, bold glitters, gorgeous neutrals and more.

Scotch Naturals Scotch Naturals has a buzz that extends even beyond the world of natural beauty. They not only have a great name and even better tagline (Not all Scotch is an acquired taste…brilliant!), they are truly non-toxic and contain none of the abrasive chemicals that are found in typical nail polish. Scotch’s line of polishes offers a wonderful eco-friendly option that comes in a variety of sophisticated colors that don’t require an acquired taste. Just remember, since this is a water-based nail polish, stick with their base coat, top coat and even polish remover for best results.

Piggy Paint – It’s all about female bonding with this one. The brand name is cute and the colors are bright and fun! This is another great water-based formula which is odorless and hypoallergenic which means it’s mommy (or big sister) approved. You won’t find any toxic chemicals here because Piggy Paint is free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, Bisphenol A, ethyl acetate and acetone. This nail polish brand is perfect for sleepovers or as stocking stuffer. One tip: Piggy Paint recommends using a blow dryer on a low heat setting for maximum chip resistance.

No matter what brand you end up leaning towards, it’s fun finding your favorites!

How about carrying No Miss Nail products as well? I think they’re quality is even better than Zoya.
