An Alternative Morning Beverage: Chai

ChaiCoffee lovers wouldn’t want to stop drinking a daily cup of coffee but some people may be looking for another morning beverage.

Do you feel like drinking something different every morning? Do you feel it’s time for a change? The answer could be “chai”.

Traditional chai tea is made from black tea mixed with spices like cinnamon, black pepper, ginger, cardamom, cloves, anise and nutmeg, containing important antioxidants that may help lowering cholesterol and blood pressure.

Black teas normally have some caffeine but not a significant amount comparing to a cup of coffee. Do you still need the caffeine kick?

No problem, try a Chai latte, a very popular choice in many coffee houses anywhere in the country. Fat free milk and honey can make a chai latte a great morning beverage, low in calories and rich in flavor.

Tea drinkers can fully enjoy the spices of chai tea. Some of the ingredients may improve several health conditions. Cinnamon is a great product for controlling sugar levels. Ginger may easy sore throats and cold and flu symptoms. Pepper promotes healthy digestion and may boost metabolism.

Do you want a cold morning beverage?

No problem again. Many types of cold chai have become popular in the United States. Ready to drink products are found everywhere, as well as ice-chai beverages in coffee shops. Frappuccinos can taste great with a little touch of chai.

Chai could be a nice addition to your beverage choice, even coffee drinkers would agree. Sometimes changing is good and you may find out a new beverage you really enjoy!
